Kidderminster is situated to the south west of Birmingham in the county of Worcestershire, and is home to nearly sixty thousand inhabitants.
The town's primary industry has long been and is to this day carpet manufacture, with Brintons and Victoria Carpets employing many locals. Many of Kidderminster's street names derive from the carpet industry, even the local newspaper is named The Shuttle after the weaving shuttles used on factory carpet looms.
There are many appealing pubs in the town, some dating back centuries, including the recently re-opened Yates' wine lodge. Also on offer are several popular nightclubs such as M2 and Tribe frequented every weekend by hundreds of revellers. A wide selection of cuisine is available in the town's many restaurants, from more traditional fare to Indian and Far Eastern delights.
